Patient Information

Helpful information to prepare for your appointment with Paul-Marie J. Brisson, MD.

Preparing for Your Visit

To help Dr. Brisson provide a complete and efficient evaluation, please bring your photo ID, insurance card, current medication list, and any relevant medical records. If you have recent X-rays, MRI scans, CT scans, surgical reports, or treatment notes related to your neck or back condition, please bring those as well.

You may also find it helpful to make a brief list of your symptoms, when they began, what makes them better or worse, and any treatments you have already tried. This information will help Dr. Brisson better understand your condition and how it is affecting your daily life.

Your First Appointment

During your first visit, Dr. Brisson will review your medical history, discuss your symptoms, and perform a focused physical and neurological examination. He will also review any available imaging to help identify the source of your pain or limited mobility.

After the evaluation, Dr. Brisson will explain his findings and discuss the treatment options that may be appropriate for you. He believes in beginning with conservative care whenever possible and will recommend surgery only when it is necessary and offers a meaningful potential benefit.

Follow-Up and Ongoing Care

Depending on your diagnosis and treatment plan, follow-up visits may be scheduled to review test results, monitor your progress, or discuss additional treatment options. If surgery is recommended, Dr. Brisson and his team will explain how to prepare, what to expect during recovery, and when follow-up care will be needed.
