Dr. Paul-Marie J. Brisson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with more than 25 years of experience diagnosing and treating complex conditions of the spine. His areas of expertise include spinal stenosis, degenerative spine disease, scoliosis, herniated discs, microdiscectomy, laminectomy, spinal fusion, and revision spine surgery.
Dr. Brisson believes that surgery should never be the first or only option. He begins with a thorough evaluation of each patient’s medical history, symptoms, imaging, and personal goals, then recommends the most conservative and effective treatment possible. When surgery is necessary, he uses advanced and minimally invasive techniques whenever appropriate to reduce pain, restore function, and help patients return to a more active life.

A graduate of McGill University’s orthopedic surgery residency program, Dr. Brisson completed specialized fellowship training in spinal surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has also been selected as one of Castle Connolly’s New York Metro Top Doctors for 20 consecutive years and has been featured by New York Magazine.
Known for his candid, compassionate approach, Dr. Brisson takes the time to explain each diagnosis and treatment option clearly. His goal is to ensure that every patient feels heard, informed, and confident in the decisions they make about their spine care.
